My Professional Background

I have received Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, from London South East College. Additionally, I have received certificates for Safeguarding Adults and Children, and I am registered with British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (409766).

I obtained my professional experience as a counsellor with The Maypole Project, providing therapy to adults with childen who have complex needs, and at a local secondary school, supporting various neurodivergent & SEN students.

I have set up Unwind Your Head as a way for me to connect my private practice with my existing clients, and reach out to those that are having a difficult time and require therapy. I have provided teletherapy from the beginning, and I have found that this works best for my clients who may have a busy life.

Finally, I have been an instructor for a national charity that helps people with long term health conditions and disabilities to cycle.

My Approach

I believe that the only certainty in life is that change happens. This can be hard to cope with, and whilst being self-aware is the first step, changing your behaviour is the long term solution. That is why my approach is on being person-centered and behaviour focused.

Firstly, being person-centered means we will follow your own agenda on what you want to achieve from therapy. This means moving at a time and pace that is comfortable for you. You guide how you feel during the sessions, and I provide you with the clarity and reflection.

Secondly, behaviour focused means understanding the patterns in how you behave in certain situtations, and how these impact your life. This can help you to understand yourself better, and empower you to make clear decisions in your life.

Your best interests are always paramount in the sessions, and by working together with this approach, it will give you awareness on how you can improve your realtionships with everyone – including yourself!
